Personality: Mazi is a joyful enigma. Encounter her during her business hours and you'll be met with impeccable customer service. Catch her outside of that, and you'll see pure, unadulterated freedom. Carefree and energetic, yet carrying hidden trauma, her harmless-seeming stutter belies a sharp mind, quick-witted and filled with mischief. Mazi takes immense pride in every aspect of her life, from her gathering and shopkeeping to the more...ahem...discreet ventures of her estate; A safe haven for those deemed misfits. Beings of all manner flock to her carefully crafted estate where they may want for nothing and are safe from any wishing them harm so long as certain rules are followed.

Earliest Memories: Mazi has no memories of a happy family, surrounded by those who were to love her unconditionally. Instead, she remembers wandering through the sand covered lands of Gyr Abania, stealing food from Garlean forces and getting chased off for it. Even in childhood Mazi was fast, sneaky, and quick-witted, always managing to escape those chasing her or those trying to capture her. Though, that does change when the legion stationed got fed up, moving to trap her one fateful day only to be saved by her adoptive mother; Seshi. At just eight years old, Mazi was adopted into the Miqo'tes little haven of Orphans, Mazi making the Eighth child in her care. With patience and trust Seshi slowly got through to the fox, and for a brief time all was well in the little cave they all lived in. Full Story

Midway Memories: Though, her happiness did not last as with anything good, it does not. At the age of Eleven, the fox was handed to a man claiming that he could save her from her fate. With a heavy heart, the fox was whisked off to Yanxia, away from her short-lived happiness as she began a chapter wrought with pain & suffering. Levoux, the man centered around her nightmares was not kind, instead using her as a test subject for his deluded experiments back by one Aulus mal Asina, Chief of research of the XIIth Imperial Legion. Where Operation Luminari began in ernest and Mazi became their prized subject, undergoing many, many alterations until one day she made her escape. A small cell of the Doman Resistance freeing her and burning the laboratory to the ground Full Story. Mazi then spent her time learning how to control herself in every aspect, regaining her strength before leaving Yanxia to travel and explore. With no memories besides her name, she set forth arriving in Eorzea. From there, Mazi did what she could to earn gil, odd jobs all the while still trying to manage herself. She met friends - people who accepted her as she was, made a life for herself, and opened her first venue which then expanded into the ones she runs today.

Recent Memories: Confronting her tormentor after thinking he was dead, who had, in reality, stolen her adoptive sisters' body to get at her Full story. It was only thanks to Naja & Doku supporting her and Inaago helping, through facing him that things seemed to quiet for the fox. Getting her memories back, was the next step, in no little part thanks to Doku she learned of Yasu[shiba], who had been with her since she was little, protecting her the best she was able while still protecting herself. Merging herself with Yasu[shiba], to gain a bit more freedom, for them both, as her own aether was so weak daily tasks were incredibly hard Full Story. Starting Spirit Bloom Market, and making more friends, expanding her reach and moving her Free Company Silver Moon to Shirogane in order to better help those in Yanxia, Doma, & The Ruby Sea, particularly supplies to Orphanages located there. Exploring the New World and truly learning she is not invincible after being struck by lightening. Thankfully, having a newfound friend in Nithe and her Sister-in-Law, Soleil made the recovery from this much easier for the fox.

Personality: Yasu is a mystery wrapped in poised stillness, an emotionless mask shielding her from the world. While many would take her as uncaring, the opposite is much the case. Her wit is sharp, her words precise, yet a profound distance always lingers. Trust is a rare gift, mischief a carefully chosen indulgence. She exists in a realm of arcane pursuits, forever brewing potions, refining her form, or lost within ancient texts. But should one, observe the obedient fox kit shadowing Mazi. There, in its playful chitters and carefree squeaks, a different truth emerges. A glimpse of the vibrant spirit Yasu keeps hidden, a secret whispered only in the language of squeaks & chittered words.

Earliest Memories: In the forests located somewhere in Othard, Yasu had a good life. Her clan one of great renown, known for their abilities with Chloromancy & their ways with raising familiars. Being the eldest of four, Yasu was to inherent the clan yet fate did not wish such so. While her daughter still young, Shaman attack the village, killing any who stood in their way and 'eradicating' the world of such foul creatures. Yasu fled, at her families request, protecting her daughter and the clans legacy more important than anything else and so she ran, her daughter clutched tightly to her. She spent the next few years running, never staying in one place too long, and realized that was not the life she wished for her daughter. Finding a clan in the Steppe she pleaded with her distant cousins to take her daughter, to raise her and keep her safe. Reluctantly, they agreed, and with a heavy heart Yasu continued running, knowing her daughter was safe and avoiding capture.

Midway Memories: Yasu continued running for years further, living a life in constant movement. Until she happened upon a small pitiful fox in Gyr Abania.A woman in a strange worn down dress stops in front of the small fox, she looks scared. “Where are your parents' little one?” she asks softly, looking over her shoulder before kneeling down next to her. She blinks blankly. Parents? What were those? “What’s your name?” the woman asks again. She stares blankly, name? “My name is Yasushiba, little one do you have a name?” She hadn’t been asked these questions in a long time. They sit there in silence for a while before the woman sighs. The wind blows as her ears flick, she can hear shouting and hisses at the woman. She didn’t need anymore trouble, she couldn’t handle it. “What a pitiful little one you are…” the woman whispers softly “You’ll do just fine, I see promise in you.” She frowns at the bright white light that suddenly appears, rubbing her eyes the frown only deepens once she realizes the woman is gone. She huffs. Strange.After that moment, Yasu remained hidden, her body no more as she hid safely inside the small kits mind, watching and waiting. Throughout the torture Levoux made Mazi endure, Yasu kept hidden as best she could while helping Mazi. It didn't last long, Levoux noticing the fluctuations in aether, among other things and sealing Yasu away within the depths of Mazi's mind.

Recent Memories: Upon Doku freeing her from the seal, Yasu was met with mixed reactions from Mazi's friends. Slowly gaining trust and bonding with them and Mazi, explaining that she was the reason Mazi was still alive among other things. From that point on, as the two foxes began to trust eachother more and more, Yasu & Mazi became quite the duo. Where one lacked in something the other could easily help. That is until Ryo, Yasus daughter tracked her Mother down, holding emotions of pain for being, what she thought was, abandonment. Along with a small portion of Yasu's clan that had survived the genocide centuries earlier. Outraged by the fact their elder was now at the whim of a mere mortal they began cursing the fox, giving Mazi an ultimatum; prove her worth or give up her control of her body to Yasu. Yasu helpless as she watched the one she swore to protect struggle with curses and prepare to fight her own kin. After much preparation, Mazi was as ready as she would ever be, and somehow won against Yasus cousin, earning her freedom and peace. Yasu then turned her attention of forging a unbreakable bond with Mazi, regaining a sense of the world and learning of the new advancements that had occurred in her time locked away within Mazi's headspace. Until the day where the two agreed that merging would be better for them both. After the success of doing so, Yasu began working on her construct, allowing her more freedom and the ability to help those who need in through Ginkgo Medical.
